Sasebo is a delicately kinetic study of balance, inertia, and the quiet drama of motion on the verge of collapse. Across its three-part structure, it cuts between panels of hollowed-out instrumental activity, teetering along the vanishing point of an acoustic space subtly shaded by lo-fi electronic sound.
At once hyperactive and seemingly directionless, the music relentlessly yet unpredictably cycles around itself, as if tracing the movement of a spinning top just before it begins to falter.
